Glass/Pepper Racing team had a superb day at Aldo Scribante,
Port Elizabeth where round three of the Wesbank Super Series was
held in front of a large and appreciative crowd on Saturday (1
May).
Racing the PG Glass/VW Racing Development Programme entry in the
Formula Volkswagen series, Tasmin Pepper qualified an impressive
fourth fastest.
The chance of a good result were spoilt on the first lap when
she spun together with Chad van Beurden at turn one. "He went in
a bit hot and ran wide and I had to go off-line to avoid him.
Then I was on the dirty part of the track - there wasn't
anything I could do," she said. A tremendous fight back saw her
claw her way back to seventh place.
Race two saw her claim fourth in the middle of a three car scrap
that lasted most of the race. "It was a hard race and overtaking
isn't easy in these cars as braking areas are so short."
